One trend from women’s wear that has finally reached the men’s niche is to tie a shirt, sweater or jacket around the waist/hips. The chic detail is in line with the street-style trend and gives a casual and semi-informal look (to maybe an otherwise formal outfit).
Tied Up, as we fancy to call this style that’s now the talk of town, is not only a good way to give some action to the silhouette but also a fun way to add some texture and color to an outfit. For instance, donning a monochrome suit and tying a brighter, colored shirt around the hips/waist and coupling that with a similarly colored tie allows you to make an easy transition from your office look to a gig outfit with less time spent.
This look can be accentuated by accessories like your favorite wrist watch or an edgy cross-body bag of appropriate color and a pair of boots. You can as well get creative, ditch the tie and opt for a stylish scarf. Take note though, that adding more casual elements or too much accessorizing can make you to come off as clumsy; balance is key.
Take it to the street folks!
